Church arrived from the Nationals in an offseason deal that sent Lastings Milledge to Washington. Last season's increase in at-bats led to a nice uptick in production, and Ryan is still young enough to see his skills increase further. He won't have a genuine breakout until he hits southpaws better than the .229 average he posted last season and gets closer to 600 total at-bats. Church should open this season as the Mets' starting right fielder, and he should prove to be an upgrade over Shawn Green at that position.
